Walk the Park - February 1st
We are thrilled to announce our very first "Walk the Park" event, scheduled for the first Thursdays of the month. Beginning February 1st at 4PM. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing and maintaining the beauty and functionality of our local parks. We're starting this at the beloved Sunrise Park a gem in the heart of our community.
What is "Walk the Park"?
"Walk the Park" will be a quarterly event where community members come together to take a stroll through our various local parks. The goal is to observe and note various aspects of the park's condition, including cleanliness, maintenance, and overall usability. This is more than just a leisurely walk; it's an opportunity to engage actively in the welfare of our green spaces.
What to Expect:
Meet-Up: We'll gather at the main entrance of Sunrise Park at 4PM
Walk and Observe: As we walk, we encourage participants to observe and take notes. Is the park clean? Are the facilities well-maintained? What improvements could be made?
Group Discussion: Post-walk, we'll have a brief gathering to discuss our observations and thoughts. This is a great chance to share ideas and suggestions for enhancing the park.
Future Planning: We'll also discuss our next park visit and how we can continue to make a positive impact in our community.
Why Your Participation Matters:
Your involvement is crucial. By joining us, you're not only showing support for our parks, but you're also contributing to a larger conversation about public space management in Palm Springs. Your observations and feedback will be invaluable as we compile a report to share with city officials and park management.
Let's Make a Difference Together:
Whether you're a regular park-goer, a concerned citizen, or someone passionate about community spaces, your voice and perspective are important. Let's come together to appreciate, assess, and advocate for the parks that play such a vital role in our community's life.
So mark your calendars for February 1st at 10 AM and join us for a morning of community engagement and advocacy at Ruth Hardy Park. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the parks we love and cherish.
We look forward to walking with you!
